Keystone XL Passes Senate Committee

January 9, 2015

The Senate Energy Committee approved a bill for construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, according to Reuters. The Republican-led committee's 13-9 vote sends the bill to the full Senate, who will vote on the measure next week. The House of Representatives will vote on the bill today.

President Barack Obama has indicated he will veto the measure.

In addition, the Nebraska Supreme Court approved the pipeline’s route, reversing a previous decision blocking the pipeline’s construction, Reuters says.
