Kenworth K270, K370 Cabover Trucks

March 26, 2014

Class 6 and 7 Kenworth cabover trucks have been upgraded with front air disc brakes, electronic braking module, and a new dash and gauge cluster. Trucks come in wheelbases from 142 to 242 inches and can be fitted with bodies from 16 to 28 feet long. The cab has a 2,500-square-inch wraparound windshield. The 63.4-inch BBC dimension allows for 45 extra inches of payload room compared with a conventional truck. Turning radius curb to curb is 30 percent better, Kenworth says. A 6.7-liter Paccar PX-7 engine—which has power ratings from 200 to 250 horsepower and up to 660 lb.-ft. of torque—can be paired with a 5- or 6-speed Allison transmission. A “clear rail” package relocates the air tanks, DEF tank, battery box, and exhaust after treatment up behind the cab.
