John Deere to Lay Off 180 Workers

John Deere will lay off approximately 180 employees at their plants in Davenport and East Moline, Ill., reports Cedar Valley Business Monthly. The Davenport Works builds construction and forestry equipment; 30 employees will be laid off there. The 150 East Moline workers are part of the Harvester Works agricultural manufacturing workforce.

To date, 1,500 Deere manufacturing employees have been laid off. 

The report cited a slower-than-expected return of growth in the construction market.
