With the introduction of the J-Series, all four John Deere backhoe-loaders feature Powershift transmissions and cruise control as standard. Among the enhancements over the previous series, four-wheel drive automatically disengages in fourth gear when roading and automatically re-engages when braking. Deere's Total Machine Control (TMC) option, available on the 14-foot-class 310SJ and 15-foot-class 410J models, features boom height kick-out, return-to-carry, parallel lift, and auto-idle for inactive periods. As well, TMC backhoes feature a "mini-joystick" in addition to the armrest-mounted main sticks, so that the operator may comfortably keep both hands on the controls when running the loader and backhoe at the same time. Estimated list price: $75,000 to $160,000.
