JLG DaVinci AE1932 Scissor Lift

All-electric DaVinci AE1932 scissor lift is a 19-foot lift with an indoor/outdoor capacity of 606 pounds. It is powered by a single lithium-ion battery with a lifespan of up to 10 years, and total energy consumption is 70 percent lower than a traditional lift, according to the company. Operating weight is 3,450 pounds, and the JLG scissor lift has 25 percent gradeability. Travel speed is 4 mph.

The lift system is designed with an electromechanical lift actuator rather than a hydraulic cylinder, which eliminates leaks. It is engineered to recover energy as the platform descends, sending it back to the battery to help maximize use between charges. Progressive elevated drive speed slows the unit down as it is elevated, instead of defaulting to a lower standard speed.

The battery can be fully charged in 3.5 hours, and “opportunity charging” will provide enough energy for 100 feet of drive plus torque for loading in 5 minutes or less. An advanced battery management system monitors the machine’s charge and usage, and provides detailed diagnostic information about the battery and charge systems via the DavinciGo App.

The lift’s distributed architecture allows each system (lift, drive, steer) to connect independently, which the company says reduces voltage drops and latency, and enables the control system to connect and communicate directly with each system. This allows the machine to transmit data to operators, fleet managers, and service technicians via Bluetooth and cellular networks. The DaVinciGo app provides real-time machine health and battery status information and the ability for service technicians to perform remote diagnostics and push over-the-air software updates.

The drive system has permanent magnets that generate torque and create motion to spin the motor. The motors require zero serviceability.

The independent controllers of the DaVinci lift’s steering system are designed to help reduce tire scrubbing on job sites, and the intuitive steering system allows operators to easily maneuver the machine.
