JCB to Make Diesel Engines

September 28, 2010

JCB's wide range of equipment types will provide a ready "internal market" for the company's new four-and six-liter diesels.

JCB plans to develop its own 4- and 6-liter diesel engines in partnership with engine specialists Ricardo, AVL, Cosworth and Krause.

According to JCB's chairman and managing director, Sir Anthony Bamford, the company's new engines will provide higher performance than existing engines and comply with future worldwide emissions requirements. For the foreseeable future, JCB will continue to source 1-, 1.5- and 2-liter engines from Perkins.
