JCB will begin producing the 6-cylinder Dieselmax 672 later this year for use in Russia, Brazil and China. The engine will share “a high degree of parts commonality” with its 4-cylinder Dieselmax sibling, the company says.

The engine will meet Stage II emissions standards and will first appear in the JS360 excavator.

Engine output will include 188, 221, 255 and 302 horsepower with maximum torque of 885 lb.-ft. JCB says the engine will deliver up to an 8-percent increase in fuel efficiency compared to previous engines in the JS excavator line.
