Industry, Republicans Weigh In On Keystone Rejection

January 19, 2012

Reaction is pouring in from Republicans and the construction industry on yesterday's decision by President Obama to deny the permit for the Keystone XL pipeline.

Republicans are upset with the move, with one calling it "stunningly stupid," while unions are "furious," calling the move a "job killer." Though TransCanada can reapply for the project, according to Reuters, completion of a new environmental assessment for the new route will take at least 12 to 18 months.
