Indiana Senate Votes to Repeal Common Construction Wage Law

The Indiana State Senate voted to repeal the state’s common construction wage law.

April 16, 2015

The Indiana State Senate voted to repeal the state’s common construction wage law, which sets base wages for public construction projects worth more than $350,000, in a 27-22 vote.

Lawmakers supporting a repeal said the change will end up saving taxpayers money, reports Fox 59.

Those opposing the repeal argue that it will introduce job competition from out-of-state construction workers and result in wage cuts.
