As the Illinois Department of Transportation waits for new equipment, it has asked at least one county for help with snow plowing, according to a report in The Daily Herald.

The paper reports that Lake County officials have been offered payment to plow 217 lane miles of state roads.

Other government agencies have been given a similar offer, the paper reports, but IDOT would not say who they were.
