ICA Safety Award Program Winners Announced

Gary, IN-based Superior Construction Co. was the big winner of the Pinnacle Safety Award at the inaugural ICA Safety Awards Program, announced at the recent 2008 Indiana Construction Association membership meeting in Indianapolis. Organized by the ICA Safety Awards Taskforce, the program attracted more than 30 entries from around the state, competing in seven categories.

Gary, IN-based Superior Construction Co. was the big winner of the Pinnacle Safety Award at the inaugural ICA Safety Awards Program, announced at the recent 2008 Indiana Construction Association membership meeting in Indianapolis.

Organized by the ICA Safety Awards Taskforce, the program attracted more than 30 entries from around the state, competing in seven categories. The overall winner was chosen from the category winners.

ICA Director of Contractor Relations George Sheraw said, “Superior Construction Co. won the overall award for demonstrating an outstanding commitment to improving employee safety. What made this company stand out was its clear demonstration of employees not only following the company’s safety policies, but exceeding the requirements. Superior has recognized that investing in employee safety offers broad business advantages and, in this case, an opportunity to show leadership in its industry sector.”

Superior also took the Gold Summit Award category for building general contractor or construction manager over 300,000 Indiana on-site man-hours.

Other winners of Gold Summit categories included Gribbins Insulation Co. Inc., Evansville – building subcontractor under 300,000 Indiana on-site hours; Midwest Mole Inc., Indianapolis – highway, heavy and utility subcontractor under 300,000 Indiana on-site hours; ERMCO Inc., Indianapolis – building subcontractor over 300,000 Indiana on-site hours; Turner Construction Co. of Indiana, LLC, Indianapolis – building general contractor/construction manager under 300,000 Indiana on-site hours; HIS Constructors, LLC, Indianapolis – highway, heavy and utility subcontractor under 300,000 Indiana on-site hours; and Milestone Contractors, L.P., Indianapolis – highway, heavy and utility subcontractor over 300,000 Indiana on-site hours.
