JLG Industries, an Oshkosh company, and Hinowa have announced an agreement that will provide JLG-branded specialty boom lifts to the North American access market. The announcement took place at the SAIE trade show in Bologna, Italy, where both JLG and Hinowa exhibited their products for construction markets.
The new articulated boom lifts feature a lightweight design, leveling outriggers, rubber tracks for mobility and a narrow width for interior maneuverability. JLG initially will add four models, ranging in working height from 46 feet (14m) to 75.5 feet (23m). Hinowa will produce the machines (available with gasoline, diesel or lithium-ionpower) to JLG specifications.
“We are excited to provide this rapidly growing product to our customers,” says Tim Morris, JLG global vice president—sales, marketing and customer support. “JLG selected Hinowa to produce these specialty boom lifts based on their product quality, innovation and technical expertise. We believe that JLG will help expand the market outside of Europe for these products, as well as provide JLG’s European customers with one-stop shopping for all of their access-product and aftermarket service needs.”
Dante Fracca, Hinowa president, also commented on the agreement: “We are proud to be selected by JLG as their supplier of JLG-branded specialty boom lifts. Hinowa remains committed to our distributor partners in Europe, which will continue to sell and service Hinowa-branded ... lifts. We believe JLG’s global presence and brand recognition will grow this product’s popularity.”
JLG will sell the new models to its network of distributors and customers, and will be responsible for “ground support” services, including parts, repair and maintenance, training and technical support. JLG expects to have these products ready for delivery in early 2011.
