Simply describing how Bobcat compact equipment has helped you perform better, smarter and faster in the past could land you $75,000 worth of Bobcat help in the future.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Bobcat product, Bobcat Co. is asking users to share their stories in the "How Bobcat Unleashed Me" contest. Entrants need to write a brief essay about their experiences with Bobcat equipment and fill out an entry form at the Bobcat 50 Years Unleashed website, located at www.bobcat.com/50.
The grand-prize winner will receive a $75,000 gift certificate, redeemable for products or attachments of the winner's choice at a designated Bobcat dealership in North America. Five runners-up will receive $1,000 gift certificates. Additional prizes include Bobcat jackets, hats and limited-edition company history books.
The grand-prize winner will be selected from weekly winners. The contest closes May 30, 2008.
In 1958, North Dakota's Melroe Manufacturing Co. partnered with brothers Cyril and Louis Keller, who upon request from a turkey farmer had built a self-propelled loader light enough to be lifted to thesecond floor of a barn. This partnership, today known as Bobcat Co., would lead to the creation of the skid-steer loader, and ultimately the compact-equipment industry.
