Portland— In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the firm's founding, GreenWorks Landscape Architecture installed a temporary park in front of its office.

The day-long installation project transformed a non-descript parking spot into a public gathering place comprised of lush green lawn, a park bench, a Styrax Japonica "snowbell" tree, and a fully loaded picnic basket. As part of GreenWorks' 10th anniversary celebration, the elements of the park were available in a raffle to benefit the Portland Parks Foundation.

"Although temporary, this newest park in the city is a fun way to bring attention to the value of parks in our community," says Mike Abbaté, principal at GreenWorks, P.C.

Founded in 1997, GreenWorks is a Portland-based landscape architecture firm with a growing practice focused on sustainable design and a staff of 15.
