A Glimpse Into the Life of a Tower Crane Operator

March 11, 2015

This is what the daily commute for a tower crane operator at a hospital construction site in southwest Florida looks like; a 20-minute, 200 ft climb up a ladder in an enclosed tube.

The Golisano Children's Hospital, scheduled to open in 2017, will provide new and expanded pediatric medical services and sub-specialty services to children throughout Southwest Florida.

The two Peiner tower cranes stand above the construction site at the HealthPark Medical Center complex in south Fort Myers, the project is expected to cost $242 million. Lee Memorial needs at least $100 million in private funds to afford construction.
