Georgia City Retires 1964 Motor Grader

The City Council of LaGrange, Ga., has retired a long-time civil servant: a 1964 Caterpillar motor grader.

According to the LaGrange Daily News, the 49-year-old piece of equipment is currently sitting at the city’s concrete plant, waiting to be sold either as-is or for scrap. In the mid-1980s the machine was used to smooth the city’s dirt roads. Most recently, it worked at the city landfill until a transmission failure took it out of service in 2007.
