Ford F150 Faces Acceleration Probe by NHTSA

May 29, 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking at reports that the Ford F150 pickup with EcoBoost engine is having acceleration problems.

Lawsuits and customer complaints allege the trucks stall when drivers attempt to accelerate fast. The truck had been touted for its V6 power.

NHTSA will evaluate whether or not the problem poses a safety hazard, which may result in a recall. The agency says some 400,000 trucks are being looked at.

Ford says it is cooperating with the investigation.
