Ford Commercial TruckFord Commercial Truck introduced a Class 4 and 5 low-cab-forward vehicle, the "LCF," and except for its simple name and flat-bar grill, it's identical to International's CF Series announced in January. They both sit on a stout International 4000 Series frame, house their drivers and helpers in a cab from Mazda, and are propelled by a new 4.5-liter, 200-hp V-6 diesel (based on International's 6-liter VT-365/Ford Power Stroke V-8) running through Ford's TorqShift 5-speed automatic transmission. Ford lists three models by gross weight ratings of 16,000, 17,999 and 19,500 pounds. The market for low-cab-forward trucks grew 50 percent in the last decade, Ford executives said, in explaining their reentry into it.
