A section of Interstate 85 just north of downtown Atlanta is closed indefinitely after the bridge near Piedmont Heights caught fire and collapsed. No injuries were reported.
The bridge is located on northbound I85 near Ga. 400. Officials have ruled out terrorism at this time, and there are indications that PVC products stored beneath the bridge caught fire.
Fire officials say the entire bridge is compromised. No estimate is available on how long the road will be closed or what repairs will have to be made.
