What did we see in Q1 2015?

In the Auction (Public) Market:

  • Year over year, auction volume rose 18% in the Southeast.
  • Caterpillar and Deere lost market share to lift truck manufacturer Genie, which exhibited a 26% increase in volume.
  • Average prices for Deere wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, and skid steer loaders increased in Q1 2015.

In the Resale (Private) Market:

  • The Resale Market saw its highest price in January then fell 7.7% in March.
  • Deere held the highest percent of the private resale market at 27%.
  • Caterpillar maintained its price premium for Crawler Mounted Hydraulic Excavators in the private resale market throughout Q1 2015.
