The October EquipmentWatch INDEX includes a quick snapshot of price, volume and age trends observed during July 2015. Over the past month, here are a few highlights of what we've observed:

October 2015 in Review

  • Construction Equipment: Prices declined by an average of 4% nationwide, although aggregate prices in some states, particularly on the East coast, showed price gains over the previous month.
  • Lift Trucks: The average age of lift trucks on the auction markets in October increased by about 2.2 years compared to the same equipment in September.
  • Agriculture: Overall volume for agricultural equipment was down across the nation. Price trends varied across the nation, but were up specifically in the Northeast and Midwest.
  • Commercial Trucks: Average ages on the market dropped even though price increases were seen all over the country.
