Driver Gets Stuck On Const. Site for 4 Hours

July 26, 2021

A driver attempting to exit Interstate was trapped in a construction area for four hours this weekend. According to The Sacramento Bee, the driver thought she was steering onto an off-ramp but instead drove into the construction zone on California’s I-5 at the Sutterville exit. The car became pinned between a concrete barrier and a sound wall with the driver locked inside, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Eventually, California’s Department of Transportation and freeway service patrol officials arrived at the scene with a tow truck to remove the driver and vehicle.

Caltrans shut down two lanes of the interstate over the weekend as part of an effort to enhance the highway system, according to the report. This forced drivers to take detours on their regular commutes.
