TerexThe Crane Institute of America (CIA) provides a full range of lift-equipment training, including preparation for certification tests administered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (CCO). CIA is also now a CCO test site, and written and practical examinations will be offered at CIA's facility near Orlando, Fla., on Feb. 6, June 18, Sept. 17 and Nov. 5.

Says James Headley, CIA director, the firm takes a "building block" approach to training, allowing students to progress from the classroom, to the crane simulator, to actual equipment operation. With its recent move to new facilities on an expansive five-acre site, says Headley, CIA has doubled its classroom space and now has its own fleet of cranes on site to facilitate hands-on instruction for operators and riggers.
