Crane Collapse Injures Seven in New York

A 300-foot crane collapsed Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Long Island City, Queens in New York, injuring seven.

None of the injuries was life threatening, according to Deputy Chief Mark Ferran of the Fire Department of New York, as reported by The New York Times.

The site, located at 46-10 Center Boulevard, is a planned 26-story residential building. None of the nearby buildings appeared to be damaged.

An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the collapse.
