Coronavirus Outbreak ID’d by Private Lab

Aug. 4, 2020

More than 100 workers on a construction project in Montana have tested positive to Covid-19, according to a report in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. The outbreak was revealed through voluntary onsite testing done by a private laboratory.

Suffolk Construction began testing on the site on July 8, according to the report, and identified 116 workers from several surrounding counties.

Suffolk told the paper that all the workers were asymptomatic and had passed a temperature check before testing positive.

“[W]orkers were sent home to self-isolate and their close contacts were notified,” said the report. “The job site was also cleaned before workers returned.”
