An Illinois Tollway construction worker pulled a man out of a burning vehicle after a pileup crash in a construction work zone along I-90 near Hampshire, Ill., reports the Chicago Tribune.

Traffic was backing up due to the construction and an eastbound box truck crashed into the rear of a vehicle that had either stopped or was moving slowly, pushing it into a third vehicle.

The vehicle in the middle of the pileup burst into flames, and the man inside was trapped until a construction worker pulled the injured man to safety, Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Herrmann told the Tribune
