A motorist driving in a closed construction lane on I-94 struck two construction workers, killing himself, one worker, and critically injuring the third, reports Detroit Free Press.

Marvin Harris, of Detroit, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet vehicle when he struck two construction workers and a parked construction vehicle in the closed lane, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The workers were performing crack sealing at the time of the crash.

The crash shut down the freeway for nearly four hours.
