The construction industry unemployment rate fell to 12.8 percent in June, down from 14.2 percent in May, and down from 15.6 percent one year ago, according to a report by the U.S. Labor Department.

The number of unemployed construction workers now stands at 1.04 million, down from 1.32 million a year ago, ABC reports, also pointing out that much of the improvement is attributable to a decline in the size of the construction workforce.
