The panel reviewing cost overruns at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) hospital under construction in Aurora, Colo., now has a construction expert on it.
The U.S. Navy approved the VA's request to have Joanna Krause, director of the Navy's Medical Facilities Design Office, be part of the panel.
The VA is investigating why the hospital under construction is expected to cost $1.73 billion, nearly triple the amount originally estimated.
The VA is currently seeking an extra $830 million in funding to finish the project.
