Orem, UT— Clyde Companies — parent company of Geneva Rock, Sunroc, WW Clyde, Gorge Rock, Clements Concrete, and Beehive Insurance — has launched a web-based corporate university.

Built on Learn.com's learning management system, the Clyde Companies' online university combines automated payroll information and internal podcasts with Learn.com's system. It is also the first in-house deployment of the system by a construction company, according to Clyde.

Featuring hundreds of web-based courses, the online university provides Clyde Companies' employees with access to online and classroom training, career resources, customized personnel development programs, and more.

According to Jake White, Clyde Companies' director of learning and development, the online university serves both business and employee ends.

"Providing training benefits is one of the strongest predictors of employee retention and engagement," he said. "Yet, we also want to ensure that our employees are aware of topics such as safety that put employees and the company at risk. We know training has a strong impact on the profitability of the business, and we will continue to provide training that will help improve our productivity and the value we provide to our customers."
