Caterpillar makes the point that its new TL-Series telehandlers, which replace certain B-Series models, are built specifically for North American users, featuring a high-boom pivot design and a tool-carrier-type coupler. The four new models (TL642, TL943, TL1055 and TL1255) range in lift capacity from 6,500 to 12,000 pounds, and in lift height from 42 to 55 feet. The new models result from Caterpillar's alliance agreement with JLG Industries, reflecting proven JLG designs, says Cat, but incorporating a high content of Caterpillar components, including Cat engines. The new models incorporate pilot-operated, single-joystick control (allowing three simultaneous boom functions), three steering modes and frame leveling.
