Caterpillar Shuffles Executive Office

Caterpillar executives Rich Lavin and Gerard Vittecoq have elected to retire, and the company's board of directors has announced their replacements.


Lavin, a Caterpillar group president with responsibility for Construction Industries & Growth Markets, will be replaced by Ed Rapp, a current group president and CFO, while Vittecoq, a group president with responsibility for Energy & Power Systems, will be replaced by Jim Umpleby, currently a VP with responsibility for solar turbines.


In addition, Brad Halverson, now a Caterpillar VP with responsibility for Finance Services, will replace Rapp as a group president and CFO.
