Caterpillar May Consolidate 2 Plants & Cut 230 Jobs

November 23, 2015

Caterpillar is considering consolidating two of its East Peoria manufacturing facilities, which would impact 230 jobs over the next few years, reports PJ Star.

The positions are a combination of office and production workers. The plan calls for the consolidation of East Peoria plants HH and KK.

Caterpillar also said it will close its undercarriage components facility in Danville, Ky., and shift production to various locations and suppliers. That transition is expected to be complete in 2017, and will affect approximately 75 positions, 25 of which will be moved to East Peoria.
