Chicago real estate investment service firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) will be handling offers for the Caterpillar heavy equipment manufacturing plant located in Oswego/Montgomery, Illinois, known as the Caterpillar Aurora Facility.
Caterpillar developed the site in 1958, which consists of 10 buildings with 4 million square feet under roof, on 350 acres. The property has its own CoGen power plant, waste water treatment plant, helipad and rail spur.
Caterpillar announced last fall it was closing the Aurora plant where wheel loaders and compactors were built, eliminating 800 manufacturing jobs.
A marketing brochure was released last week by JLL and the Caterpillar Task Force. No price is listed.
