June 10, 2014

Caterpillar has hired former U.S. Representative Ray LaHood to serve as a consultant to “provide advice on policy related matters,” the company said in a statement.

LaHood served as Transportation Secretary from 2009 to 2013.

“Ray will assist Caterpillar in developing corporate strategies focused on identifying solutions to specific policy and communications challenges Caterpillar faces in the increasingly complex policy and business environment,” the Caterpillar statement said. “Caterpillar will also benefit from LaHood’s deep expertise in infrastructure planning and investment and manufacturing in the United States.”
