Caterpillar employees sent 24,728 letters to Congress and the White House in support of trade legislation now moving through the Senate, which could potentially increase U.S. exports and economic growth, reports The Hill.

CEO Doug Oberhelman asked his employees to support trade legislation by sending letters to the Capitol.

Oberhelman made his call to employees before the Senate’s first procedural trade vote, which failed. But an agreement between Republicans and Democrats revived the legislation.

The Senate passed two of its four trade assistance bills so far.
