Filling a gap in the company’s large wheel loader product offering, Caterpillar has rolled out a totally new model. With a 25-ton loader capacity, the 993K matches with the Cat 777 and 785 off-highway trucks. The new loader is built on an all-new platform, featuring Z-bar linkage that provides 20-percent more breakout force than the 992G, the previous generation’s next size class down. As compared to the Cat 3508B engine used in previous mining loaders, the 950-net-horsepower C32 ACERT engine delivers 19-percent more power and a 5-percent increase in fuel efficiency.
