Caterpillar D-Series Crawler ExcavatorsThree mid-sized models are the newest D-Series additions to Caterpillar’s hydraulic track excavator product line. Competing in the class of machines weighing 20 metric tons and up, the new 320D L, 320D LRR and 321D LCR models offer standard, reduced and compact swing radius, respectively, ranging from 9 feet to 5 feet 6 inches. The D-Series excavators feature the Cat C6.4 engine with ACERT technology, boasting about 7-percent more engine power and increased hydraulic pressure for increased breakout force, greater lift force, and increased drawbar pull. While the 320D L and 321D LCR models are upgrades of C-Series machines with the same configuration designation, the 320D LRR is a replacement for the 320C LU model.
