Worldwide retail machine sales rose 28 percent Y/Y for the rolling three-month period ending in April, Caterpillar reports, slightly better than the 26-percent gain reported last month. The results are below the respective 33 percent and 34 percent jumps reported in February and January.
Sales in the Asia Pacific region jumped 33 percent, while sales surged 56 percent for Latin America, 25 percent for North America and 23 percent for Europe and the Middle East.
Energy and transportation retail sales for the latest rolling three-month period rose 14 percent, led by a 43 percent increase in oil and gas sales.
