Tim Bluth to become Chief Technology Officer

Tom Bluth, currently VP of Caterpillar's Surface Mining & Technology Division (SM&T), will become Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and VP of the Innovation & Technology Development Division (ITDD) effective August 1.

Jean Savage, current CTO and VP of ITDD, will replace Bluth.

Doug Hoerr, current VP of MH&U, will retire from the company after 24 years of service.

Hoerr was group CFO for Customer & Dealer Support from 2012 to 2105, during which time he was instrumental in coordinating key elements of the Across the Table initiative, which drove improved performance and alignment between Caterpillar and the worldwide dealer network, Caterpillar said.

Karl Weiss, VP of the Earthmoving Division, will replace Hoerr at MH&U.

Frederic Istas, currently aftermarket solutions global manager for Caterpillar’s Global Aftermarket Solutions Division, will replace Weiss as VP of the Earthmoving Division.
