A federal jury has mandated that Caterpillar pay a British supplier, Miller U.K. Ltd., $73.6 million for copying the supplier's coupler design.

The two-month trial was tried in federal court in Chicago. Miller employs 105 workers and was poised to shut its doors if it hadn't won the case, an article in the Chicago Tribune said. Caterpillar is expected to appeal.
