Carothers Construction, Inc., Water Valley, MS, was awarded a $35,483,000 contract for the construction of the Extended Care Health Facility by the Department for the Veterans Affairs. The projected construction schedule is 28 months.
The project is a concrete-framed structure on auger cast piling with approximately 105,000 square feet and will be located at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi. The exterior has a brick facade with three cast stone friezes encircling the building and cast stone window sills and lintels.
Carothers recently completed seismic upgrades and renovations to the VA Hospital in Memphis, TN, and is currently working on projects in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Texas, and Mississippi.
