Bridgestone Plant Recognized for Safety

July 23, 2015

Bridgestone Americas will celebrate the certification of its Wilson, N.C., passenger and light truck manufacturing plant as a Rising Star facility by the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) with a ceremony at the plant.

The Rising Star Program is part of North Carolina’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Carolina Star Program, which is similar to OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program.

The program is a comprehensive health and safety process that requires employee involvement, management support and a cooperative relationship with North Carolina’s OSHA. The plant partnered with the NCDOL staff, who conducted 37 hours of on-site evaluation and 250 teammate interviews to ensure that Rising Star criteria had been met.
