Massachusetts state transportation officials and MBTA fiscal overseers voted unanimously yesterday to support a scaled-down Green Line extension. However, the Federal Transit Administration still must approve the new proposal of $2.3 billion to complete the project. On the bright side, this new proposal is $700 million less the original $3 billion estimate to finish, but still about $400 million above the previous projection.
