Over the past 10 years, Bobcat Enterprises' training and safety center has trained more than 6,000 students from 650 companies and organizations, including federal and state agencies, colleges and technical schools, builders and contractors, construction companies, and general industry facilities.
The need for a professional training department was evident to Tom Trapp, president and owner of Cincinnati-based Bobcat Enterprises Inc. (BEI). "Training was something we all did," he says. "Salesmen would train a customer on the proper use of a machine, but there was no consistency. Our customers had a need for training to lower their liability risks and improve operator efficiency. So, Bobcat Enterprises opened the training and safety center to provide an important customer service that was not available anywhere else."
Today, Bobcat Enterprises' professional trainers provide certified operator safety training and qualification on all Bobcat equipment, including skid-steer loaders, track machines and excavators, industrial and rough terrain forklifts, aerial work platforms, mobile cranes, and more. Programs are also offered on basic rigging, trenching and excavating safety, and mobile crane operation.
Large and small group instruction is conducted on a regular weekly schedule at Bobcat Enterprises' training center in Cincinnati throughout the year. Training can also be performed on a job site or at a customer's facility. Training is available in English and Spanish.
Training is structured to provide flexibility in meeting student needs and identified special applications that may require a customized training approach. Train the Trainer programs are also available.
Bobcat Enterprises' training team has over 30 years of experience in training and safety, providing OSHA-compliant training on construction and industrial equipment. The solid experience, extensive course development, and instruction for federal, public and private organizations has changed lives by teaching thousands of operators the proper techniques to operate equipment both professionally and safely. Bobcat Enterprises' training department serves as a liaison between equipment manufacturers, owners and operators.
Bobcat Enterprises' training and safety staff is active in the community, helping prepare the future workforce by providing equipment training courses for vocational and apprenticeship students. BEI training instructors also serve on several advisory and educational committees.
OSHA regulations require that operators of construction equipment must be trained and qualified. By attending Bobcat Enterprises training courses, equipment operators will be in compliance with OSHA regulations and will lower liability risks, increase productivity and have improved safety awareness.
