December 1, 2014

Bauma China 2014, held Nov. 25 to 28, 2014, attracted 191,000 visitors from 149 countries and regions. This represents a 6 percent increase in attendance from 2012, when attendance totaled 180,000. The number of international buyers rose by 12 percent.

“After twelve years of development of Bauma China, this show is now not only a platform for product presentation, but also a grand industry party for communication and cooperation for further growth,” said Eugen Egetenmeir, managing director of Messe München.

After China, the top 10 visitor countries and regions abroad were Russia, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Bauma China occupied all 300,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This year’s show gathered 3,104 exhibitors from 41 countries, which is an increase of 14 percent compared to two years ago (2,718 exhibitors from 38 countries).

Taking part in Bauma China 2014 were 2,097 Chinese exhibitors. Here they presented to the world their key products and standards of excellence. This year there was a rise in the number of international exhibitors. After China, the top five exhibitor countries were Germany, U.S., Italy, Korea and Japan. Bauma China also featured nine national pavilions, from Austria, Finland, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, Turkey, U.K. and the U.S.

For the first time, a business matchmaking system was implemented at Bauma China to facilitate contacts between exhibitors and visitors. Visitors were able to search detailed information that the exhibitors had posted in the system and target the exhibitors they were specifically interested in. Hundreds of advance contacts were made in this way and meetings were arranged for the show.

The next Bauma China will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Nov. 22 to 25, 2016.
