Transportation projects from around the United States were recognized for their contributions to environmental protection and mitigation at the 14th annual Globe Awards. The event, held as part of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation’s (ARTBA-TDF) Federal Issues Program, took place in Washington, D.C. on Monday June 3, 2013.
The Globe Awards recognize private sector firms and public sector transportation agencies that protect and enhance the natural environment in their design and construction of transportation projects. They also recognize manufacturers and suppliers that protect and enhance the environment.
An independent panel of industry professionals reviewed all of the nominations and selected the winners in five categories.
The 2013 winners are:
