AHTD Announces Highway 7 Passing Lanes Completion Date

Construction of passing lanes on Highway 7 north of Hot Springs is progressing and should be completed by the early part of 2009, according Dan Flowers, director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD). Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., of Hot Springs, AR, was awarded the contract for approximately $6 million.

Construction of passing lanes on Highway 7 north of Hot Springs is progressing and should be completed by the early part of 2009, according Dan Flowers, director of the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD). Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., of Hot Springs, AR, was awarded the contract for approximately $6 million.

“We are adding two new passing lanes on Highway 7, one northbound and one southbound, between Hot Springs Village and Highway 5,” stated Flowers. “A continuous left turn lane is also under way, beginning at Burl Road and extending one mile northward to the existing left turn lane at Hot Springs Village,” added Flowers.
