Afghanistan Vet Awarded $249M Military Construction Contract

National Guard captain started construction company seven years ago to provide jobs for fellow returning veterans

Michael Waldrop, CEO of Blue Cord Design and Construction - and two time Bronze Star of Valor recipient - has landed part of a $249 million construction project with the military.

Blue Cord Design and Construction in Orlando, Florida, joins three others on a three-year contract for companies to oversee design and build medical and health care projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Blue Cord will do specialized work that may require contact with hazardous materials.
