78 Percent of States Add Construction Jobs Over Latest 12 Months

California and Hawaii added the most jobs for the year, Virginia and Kansas had largest one-month drop.

AGC's construction employment report is available now and Ken Simonson, chief economist for AGC, says “Construction remains vibrant in nearly every state and is adding workers at a faster clip than other industries in much of the country,” said Ken Simonson, chief economist for the association. “Contractors report they are optimistic that demand for construction will continue, but they worry about finding enough qualified workers.”
